Sustainable Christmas Tree Sales Campaign – Leroy Merlin
Reaching its 8th consecutive edition in 2022, the Sustainable Christmas Tree Sale campaign is Leroy Merlin’s firm promise for a cleaner and more protected environment and a 100% sustainable approach to a high-impact selling moment for both the retailer and the end customer.
Caring for nature is one of Leroy Merlin’s top priorities, so all the trees sold by the retailer come from nurseries specially created for planting and growing Christmas trees. The nurseries are located exclusively on agricultural land covering dozens of hectares, helping to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by their very existence.
After the outstanding results in January 2022, when more than 30,000 customers participated in the organized Christmas tree collection and reuse campaign and returned around 40,000 trees, Leroy Merlin decided to expand the reach of the campaign.
Thus, in January 2023, for two weeks, all Romanians who had a Christmas tree, regardless of where they bought it, were encouraged to give it a second chance by bringing it to Leroy Merlin stores across the country.
