In the unexpected context of the pandemic, Auchan and Leroy Merlin, with the support of the Ministry of Health and the Department of Urgent Situations (DUS), started organizing a hospitalization center for non-critical people in Bucurestii Noi area, in the Capital. For the arrangement and equipment of the space, the two companies launched a public appeal to the business environment to get involved through donations of products and services. In less than 3 weeks, with the help of over 50 companies, the space was completely arranged and handed over to the authorities, in the presence of the President of Romania, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Health, the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Head of Emergency Situations. The fundraising campaign was communicated both in the media, through press releases and interviews, and in social media, becoming one of the most important social responsibility actions carried out by Auchan.
